Planning a Bachelorette Wine Tour on Long Island

Planning a Bachelorette Wine Tour on Long Island

Group rules, celebration-friendly rooms, and what it actually costs per person.

Long Island wine country is the default bachelorette destination for New York groups, which means tasting rooms have gotten selective. Knowing which estates welcome a celebration — and which quietly decline groups over eight — is most of the planning.

Start with the group count

Under eight guests opens nearly every room in the region and fits a single Sprinter. Nine to fourteen requires calling ahead everywhere and usually means a larger vehicle. Over fifteen and you are booking private space, not tastings.

Rooms that welcome a celebration

Sparkling Pointe is the natural opener — it is all sparkling, which sets the tone without anyone having to ask for prosecco. Wölffer's rosé terrace photographs beautifully. Bedell handles larger seated groups with the most grace.

  • Open with sparkling, not reds — the energy of the day follows the first pour.
  • Book a food stop, not just cheese boards. Four hours of tasting without a real meal ends badly.
  • Ask about décor rules in advance. Several estates allow small table décor; almost none allow amplified music.

Transport and budget

A private Sprinter for eight guests over six hours generally runs $900–$1,400 including gratuity, or roughly $120–$175 per person before tastings. Tasting flights add $25–$45 each. Party buses cost less per head but several premium rooms will not seat groups arriving on one.

Frequently asked

Late May through June and mid-September through October — warm terraces, full tasting rooms, and easier reservations than peak August.

Plan on $175–$250 per person all in for a group of eight: transport, three tastings, and a food stop.

In the vehicle, yes. Inside tasting rooms, keep décor minimal and skip speakers — it is the fastest way to lose a reservation.
